Vanishing Islands

I watched this video on Youtube about an island in the Federated States of Micronesia that is currently facing the issue of climate change, like the rest of the world.

As an atoll, surface water is scarce or not available at all, and food sources such as breadfruit, bananas, and the precious taro are vulnerable to salt water damage. The island has lost so much surface area and continues to face an uncertain future and having no more land; and the island may be entirely submerged in water in the upcoming years.

A line that struck me we was "An islander is defined by their island"; it's who they are and they can't be separated from their island.
