Coconut Rhinoceros Beetle

Pacific News Center Report

The coconut rhinoceros is another invasive, along with the brown tree snake, that the community must worry about.

The coconut tree, being the tree of life to all Pacific cultures, is currently facing an issue with an unwanted visitor: the coconut rhinoceros beetle.

The PNC report states that Asan park, an area with its famous rows of coconut trees facing the ocean, will have to face cutting down of coconut trees that are infected with beetles.

Coconut trees in Tumon were already cut down due to the unwanted pest.
