Advocating for Guam and the rest of our Pacific family.

I re-watched the video of the Laysan Albatross, or what is known as the mōlī in Hawaiian.

The video took place on Midway Atoll located in the Hawaiian Islands, but its message is universal: Do not throw your trash in the ocean, because the trash can drift thousands of miles away and end up in an animal's stomach.

For the mōlī and other seabirds, the life of a sea bird in a general is a difficult one because of overfishing caused by commercialism.

Please, do not throw your trash in the oceans. Because the little things affect others and cause big problems.

For us living on Guam, sea birds do not nest on the mainland of Guam, so it is hard to become aware of what is happening in our surroundings.

Do your part and choose an environmentally-friendly lifestyle. Even though it may not be a completely changed lifestyle, but the small things may lead to bigger improvements.

Just by planting trees, you can make the land a greener lace to live on- and don't forget shady and beautiful! Win-win!

Watch the video and become inspired!

Protect the land. Protect the sea.
Prutehi i tano'. Prutehi i tasi.
Mālama ka ʻāina. Mālama ke kai.
